The surface of the Genius Sectional Doors is made up of 40 mm thick insulated panels, made of double pre-painted galvanized steel sheet, with interposed high-density CFC-free polyurethane foam which ensures the Genius sectional door a reduced coefficient of thermal transmittance and a optimal acoustic insulation, thanks also to the interruption of the thermal bridge between the external and internal sheet metal. The particular section of the panel guarantees anti-pinch fingers according to the EN12604 standard. In the lower part of the panel there is an elastic gasket which ensures air and water tightness with the underlying panel. A double internal steel reinforcement, present along the entire length of the panel, guarantees the best hold of the fixing screws of the hinges and omega profiles. The heads of the panels are reinforced by C-shaped profiles (lateral carters) in galvanized steel pre-painted in the color White Ral 9010, onto which, inside the panel, the lateral joint hinges are screwed which, together with the intermediate ones (screwed directly onto the panels), ensure their coupling and rotation. The lateral and intermediate hinges are made of steel. The lateral hinges have the seat for the insertion of the nylon sliding rollers which are applied on bearings and mounted on steel shafts. On the edge of the lower panel an aluminum profile is applied on which an EPDM gasket is inserted for sealing to the floor while on the upper edge, sealing is ensured by a gasket placed on the lintel or rib. On the edge of the lower panel an aluminum profile is applied on which an EPDM gasket is inserted for sealing to the floor while on the upper edge, the aDepending on the size of the doors and/or the color of the panels, profiles are applied inside omega-shaped reinforcement in galvanized or white Ral 9010 painted steel. It is secured by a gasket placed on the lintel or rib.

The sliding guides are made with steel profiles of suitable thickness and section such as to contain the nylon wheels that support the panels. Vertically they are fixed on the angular profiles arranged for fixing on the masonry bundles or on the steel uprights; special co-extruded gaskets with soft lips, applied on the aforesaid corner profiles, guarantee air and water tightness with the panel. Special self-supporting corner plates, fixed to the upper end of the corner profiles, support the balancing spring unit and the external rib when required. The horizontal sliding section consists of a double guide profile of which the one positioned at the bottom has a curved end that abuts perfectly with the vertical guide to allow the continuity of sliding of the door. The second guide (positioned towards the ceiling) ends with a truncated curve in which only the wheel positioned on the upper part of the last panel is channeled with the aim of guaranteeing perfect closure of the mantle. The double guide is fixed to the masonry using pre-drilled corner brackets.

The balancing of the sectional door is ensured by torsion springs in galvanized harmonic steel. The springs are fixed to the shaft via die-cast aluminum mandrels; the shaft is made of galvanized steel of adequate thickness, and has a hollow tubular section for housing the safety keys. The aluminum drums on which the steel ropes that lift the door are wound are fixed to the ends. The system is calculated for use of 25,000 cycles, i.e. 4 cycles per day for 10 years, but systems for intensive use up to 100,000 cycles can be supplied on request (only if technically feasible). The spring cover casing, when foreseen or requested, is made of white pre-painted steel.

In order not to cause damage to people and things, the sectional door can be equipped with safety devices that block movement of the door in the event of breakage of the lifting cables and torsion springs. Where required or if required, special nylon protections are applied to the sliding wheels to prevent fingers from being crushed during door operation.

A plastic grip with the Ferraro brand is always applied to the door; to ensure the closing of the door, on request, a steel bolt can be applied internally (make sure that there is another access in the garage or the sectional door has inserted a pedestrian door) or a lock with cylinder and external knob. In doors that can be opened with towing motors (on request), the closing of the door is guaranteed by the impeding action of the motor which blocks the opening even when there is no electricity, while for those that can be opened with a side motor on request, the an electric lock that is activated automatically when the door is closed.

The door is normally supplied for manual operation; on request it can be equipped with single-phase 220V-50Hz towing-type motors which automatically detect any obstacles during descent and ascent by inverting or blocking the manoeuvre. It is possible to apply lateral motors which intervene directly on the soft shaft. Various operating accessories are available on request.
